Be a citizen of India
Be at least 35 years old
Be qualified to be elected as a member of the Lok Sabha
Not hold any office of profit under the Government of India, any State Government, or any local authority
Get nominated by at least 50 electors as proposers and 50 electors as seconders
File the nomination within the prescribed time
Pay the required security deposit
Contest the presidential election through the Electoral College
Secure the required majority of votes from elected members of both Houses of Parliament and elected members of the Legislative Assemblies of States and Union Territories of Delhi and Puducherry
Be elected and then take the oath of office before the Chief Justice of India or, in their absence, the senior-most judge of the Supreme Court
