How To Bleed Master Cylinder?

Secure the vehicle on level ground and wear safety gloves and eye protection

Check the brake fluid type specified for the vehicle

Fill the master cylinder reservoir with fresh brake fluid to the proper level

If the master cylinder is new or replaced, bench bleed it before installation if possible

Install bleed tubes into the master cylinder outlet ports and route the tubes back into the reservoir

Submerge the tube ends in brake fluid inside the reservoir

Slowly depress the master cylinder piston or brake pedal

Release the piston or pedal slowly

Repeat the stroke until no air bubbles appear in the fluid returning through the tubes

Keep the reservoir filled during the process so it does not run dry

Tighten the outlet fittings or remove the bleed tubes after bleeding is complete

Reinstall the master cylinder on the vehicle if it was bench bled separately

Bleed the brake lines and wheels after the master cylinder is bled

Check the brake pedal feel for firmness

Inspect all fittings and connections for leaks

Top off the reservoir to the correct level and secure the cap
