Bring the water to a boil over high heat
Remove the husks and silk from the corn
Add the corn to the boiling water
Reduce the heat to medium if needed to maintain a gentle boil
Cook for 4 to 7 minutes, until the kernels are tender
Remove the corn with tongs
Drain briefly and serve hot
Add butter, salt, or other seasonings if desired
