Use eggs that are 7–10 days old if possible
Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil
Lower eggs into the water gently
Boil for 10–12 minutes for hard-boiled eggs
Prepare a bowl of ice water
Transfer eggs to the ice water immediately after boiling
Let eggs cool in the ice water for at least 5–10 minutes
Crack the shell all over before peeling
Peel under running water or in a bowl of water
Start peeling from the wider end of the egg
