Sit down and rest quietly

Take your prescribed blood pressure medicine exactly as directed
If you missed a prescribed dose, follow your doctor’s instructions or pharmacist’s advice
Reduce stress and avoid arguing or rushing
Seek urgent medical help if blood pressure is 180/120 or higher, or if you have chest pain, shortness of breath, severe headache, weakness, confusion, vision changes, or trouble speaking
