How To Bring On Labor?

Call your healthcare provider, midwife, or labor and delivery unit for guidance

Follow their instructions if you are past your due date or have a medical reason to induce labor

Walk or stay lightly active if your provider says it is safe

Change positions often and use gentle movement

Try nipple stimulation only if approved by your provider

Have sex if your provider says it is safe

Rest, hydrate, and eat light meals if allowed

Use relaxation, breathing, or a warm bath to help your body settle into labor

Do not use herbal remedies, castor oil, or other induction methods without medical advice

Go to the hospital or call emergency services if you have bleeding, decreased fetal movement, severe pain, or your water breaks and you are told to come in
