Move the oven rack to the top position
Set the oven to Broil
Preheat the broiler for 5 to 10 minutes
Place food on a broiler-safe pan or baking sheet
Line the pan with foil if desired
Season the food as needed
Put the pan on the top rack, close to the broiler
Keep the oven door slightly open if your oven requires it
Watch the food closely while broiling
Flip the food halfway through if needed
Remove the food when browned and cooked through
Use oven mitts to take the pan out
Let the food rest before serving
