Buy a Hearthfire plot from a Jarl or steward
Travel to the plot and use the drafting table
Choose and build the Small House layout
Gather materials:
Sawn logs
Quarried stone
Clay
Iron ingots
Nails
Hinges
Locks
Glass
Straw
Goat horns
Use the workbench to construct the foundation and rooms
Use the carpenter’s workbench to craft furniture and fittings
Upgrade the small house into wings and larger rooms
Build the main hall
Add a cellar, if available
Place doors, windows, and interior furnishings
Furnish the house with beds, storage, tables, and crafting stations
Hire a steward to manage supplies and livestock
Add a garden, greenhouse, stable, or animal pen if desired
Move in and use the house as your home base
