Express the product in the desired unit, usually grams or moles
Use the theoretical yield as the maximum possible amount from stoichiometric calculations
Compare the actual amount collected to the theoretical yield
Calculate actual yield if needed from percent yield using the formula: Actual Yield = (Percent Yield × Theoretical Yield) ÷ 100
Rearrange the percent yield formula if actual yield is not directly known: Actual Yield = (Percent Yield ÷ 100) × Theoretical Yield
