How To Calculate Actual Yield?

Measure the amount of product actually obtained from the reaction

Express the product in the desired unit, usually grams or moles

Use the theoretical yield as the maximum possible amount from stoichiometric calculations

Compare the actual amount collected to the theoretical yield

Calculate actual yield if needed from percent yield using the formula: Actual Yield = (Percent Yield × Theoretical Yield) ÷ 100

Rearrange the percent yield formula if actual yield is not directly known: Actual Yield = (Percent Yield ÷ 100) × Theoretical Yield
