Calculate the life expectancy index:
Life Expectancy Index = (Life expectancy at birth – 20) / (85 – 20)
Calculate the education index:
Mean Years of Schooling Index = Mean years of schooling / 15
Expected Years of Schooling Index = Expected years of schooling / 18
Education Index = (Mean Years of Schooling Index + Expected Years of Schooling Index) / 2
Calculate the income index:
Income Index = [ln(GNI per capita) – ln(100)] / [ln(75,000) – ln(100)]
Combine the three indices:
HDI = (Life Expectancy Index × Education Index × Income Index)^(1/3)
Use the final HDI value to assess human development level
