Check your policy terms for surrender, free-look, and cancellation conditions
If within the free-look period, submit a written cancellation request to LIC
Return the original policy document along with the cancellation request
Attach identity proof, bank details, and any required KYC documents
Visit the LIC branch where the policy was issued or contact your servicing branch
Fill out the surrender or cancellation form provided by LIC
Submit the completed form and documents to the branch
Obtain an acknowledgment receipt after submission
Wait for LIC to process the request and credit any eligible refund or surrender value
If the policy was bought through an agent, you may also inform the agent, but submit the request directly to LIC
For online policies, check the LIC portal or customer service for the applicable cancellation process
