Open the search page or app
Find the active search bar or search results page
Select the X, clear, or cancel button
Press Back or Esc if available
Close the search tab or window
Stop any ongoing voice search or loading search
Clear the search text if needed
Refresh the page if the search does not cancel
Check app settings for search history or recent searches
Disable search suggestions or auto-search if needed
