Open Gmail in a web browser
Click the gear icon in the top right
Select “See all settings”
Go to the “Themes” section
Click “View all” or “Themes”
Choose a theme or upload your own image
Click “Save” or “Apply” if prompted
Refresh Gmail if the background does not change immediately
