Park the car safely and turn off the engine
Put the car in park and set the parking brake
Open the hood
Identify the battery terminals
Wear safety gloves and eye protection
Connect the red charger clamp to the positive battery terminal
Connect the black charger clamp to the negative terminal or a grounded metal point if recommended
Set the charger to the correct battery type and voltage
Plug in and turn on the charger
Wait until the battery is fully charged
Turn off and unplug the charger
Remove the black clamp first
Remove the red clamp second
Close the hood
Start the car to confirm it is charged
