Open any Microsoft Office app, such as Word or Excel
Click File
Click Account or Office Account
Look for the Product Information or About section
Check the version number shown there
In some versions, click About Word, About Excel, or About PowerPoint
The version and build number will appear in the About window
On Windows, you can also open Control Panel
Click Programs
Click Programs and Features
Find Microsoft Office in the list
Check the version name in the Name column
On Mac, open an Office app
Click the app name in the menu bar
Click About Word, About Excel, or About PowerPoint
The version number will appear in the About box
