Look for the DOT code on the tyre sidewall
Find the last four digits of the DOT code
Read the first two digits as the week of manufacture
Read the last two digits as the year of manufacture
Example: 2319 means the tyre was made in the 23rd week of 2019
Check both sides of the tyre if the DOT code is not visible on one side
Inspect the tyre for signs of cracking, bulging, or dry rot
Replace tyres that are too old even if tread looks good
Check the tyre’s age against the manufacturer’s recommended service life
Ask a tyre dealer to verify the date if the code is hard to read
