Include the author’s last name, year of publication, and page number in the in-text citation
Use a comma between the year and page number
Use “p.” for a single page
Use “pp.” for multiple pages
Place the citation before the period for a direct quote
Example: (Smith, 2020, p. 15)
Example: (Smith, 2020, pp. 15–17)
For paraphrases, page numbers are optional but recommended when helpful
If the source has no page numbers, use paragraph numbers or section headings instead
