Let the skillet cool completely
Scrape out any food bits with a spatula or scraper
Rinse with hot water
Use a small amount of mild dish soap if needed
Scrub with a non-abrasive sponge or brush
For stuck-on residue, use coarse salt and a little water to scrub
Rinse thoroughly
Dry immediately with a towel
Heat on the stove for a minute or two to remove remaining moisture
Apply a thin layer of oil to the inside surface
Wipe off any excess oil
Store in a dry place
