Turn off the power to the fan at the switch and breaker
Place a drop cloth or towel beneath the fan
Remove the fan cover
Wash the cover with warm soapy water
Let the cover dry completely
Vacuum dust from the fan housing and motor area
Use a soft brush or microfiber cloth to loosen buildup
Wipe accessible parts with a damp cloth
Clean the fan blades if reachable
Avoid getting the motor wet
Reinstall the dry cover
Restore power and test the fan
Clean the fan every few months
