Wear gloves, eye protection, and old clothing
Turn off the device or vehicle and remove the battery if safe to do so
Keep away from flames, sparks, and heat
If acid is on skin, rinse with running water for at least 15 minutes
If acid is in eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek urgent medical help
If acid is on a surface, sprinkle baking soda over the spill
Wait until fizzing stops
Wipe up the residue with disposable towels
Clean the area with a damp cloth and mild soap
Dispose of contaminated materials in a sealed bag
Wash hands and any exposed skin thoroughly
If the spill is large or the battery is damaged, contact a professional or hazardous materials service
