Turn off the machine and unplug it
Let the machine cool completely
Remove the portafilter, basket, drip tray, and water tank
Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container
Wash removable parts with warm water and mild dish soap
Rinse and dry all removable parts thoroughly
Wipe the exterior with a damp, soft cloth
Clean the group head with a cleaning brush
Run water through the group head without coffee
Backflush with a Breville-approved cleaning tablet if your model supports it
Clean the steam wand immediately after use
Purge the steam wand and wipe it with a damp cloth
Soak the steam wand tip if milk residue remains
Descale the machine with a Breville-approved descaling solution
Refill the water tank with fresh water and flush after descaling
Clean the grinder hopper and burrs if your model has a built-in grinder
Reassemble all parts once they are fully dry
Repeat regular cleaning after each use and deep cleaning as needed
