Wash the headlights with soap and water
Dry the headlights completely
Mask the area around the headlights with tape
Apply toothpaste or a headlight cleaning product
Rub the lens with a microfiber cloth in circular motions
Rinse off the residue
Repeat if needed
Sand heavily oxidized headlights with wet sandpaper
Use progressively finer grits of sandpaper
Keep the lens and sandpaper wet while sanding
Wipe the headlights clean
Apply a plastic polish
Buff the lens with a clean microfiber cloth
Apply a UV sealant or protective coating
Let the coating cure as directed
Clean headlights regularly to prevent buildup
