How to Clean CDs?

Wash your hands before handling the CD

Hold the CD by the edges or center hole

Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth

Wipe from the center hole straight outward to the edge

Do not wipe in circles

Lightly dampen the cloth with water if needed

Add a small amount of mild dish soap for greasy dirt

Rinse the CD gently with clean water if soapy

Dry the CD with a clean microfiber cloth

Let the CD air-dry completely before using it

Use rubbing alcohol on stubborn smudges if needed

Avoid paper towels, tissues, and rough cloths

Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, and window sprays

Store CDs in cases after cleaning

Inspect for scratches before and after cleaning
