Turn off the ceiling fan and switch off the power at the wall or breaker
Place a sheet, towel, or drop cloth under the fan
Put on a dust mask if needed
Use a step stool or ladder to reach the blades safely
Slip a pillowcase over each blade and pull it back to trap dust
Wipe each blade with a microfiber cloth or duster
Mix mild soap with warm water for sticky buildup
Dampen a cloth with the cleaning solution and wipe the blades
Dry each blade with a clean cloth
Clean both the top and bottom of each blade
Wipe the fan motor housing and light fixtures if present
Vacuum or sweep up fallen dust from the floor
Repeat regularly to prevent heavy dust buildup
