Shake out any loose food particles
Rinse immediately under cold running water
Soak in cold water to loosen residue
Wash with warm water and mild dish soap or detergent
Rub gently to remove trapped bits
Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear
Boil briefly if extra sanitizing is needed and the fabric allows it
Wash again if any odor or grease remains
Air dry completely
Store in a clean, dry place
Discard if the cloth is frayed, stained beyond cleaning, or holds odors after washing
