How To Clean Coffee Maker?

Unplug the coffee maker and let it cool

Remove and discard any used coffee grounds or filters

Empty the water reservoir and rinse it with clean water

Wash the carafe, lid, and any removable parts with warm soapy water

Rinse removable parts thoroughly and dry or air-dry

If using a descaling solution: fill the reservoir with the recommended amount of descaler plus water (per product directions)

If using white vinegar: fill the reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water

Place the empty carafe (with no filter) under the brew spout

Start a brew cycle and run until the reservoir is about halfway empty

Turn the machine off and let it sit 15–30 minutes

Resume the brew cycle until the reservoir is empty

Let the carafe cool, then discard the liquid

Run 1–2 full cycles with clean water to rinse out any remaining descaler/vinegar

Discard the rinse water after each cycle

If the machine still smells or tastes like vinegar/descaler, run an additional rinse cycle

Wipe the exterior, warming plate, and brew area with a damp cloth

Reassemble the machine once everything is clean and dry

Brew and discard 1 full pot of fresh water before brewing coffee if you notice any residue or odor
