Blot up as much urine as possible with paper towels or a clean cloth
Press firmly and repeat with fresh towels until the area is mostly dry
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water
Lightly soak the stained area with the vinegar solution
Blot again with a clean cloth
Sprinkle baking soda over the damp area
Let the baking soda sit until fully dry
Vacuum up the baking soda
Use an enzymatic pet cleaner on any remaining odor or stain
Follow the cleaner’s label instructions
Repeat the cleaning process if needed
Test any cleaner on a small hidden area first
Avoid using steam or heat until the stain and odor are gone
Wash removable rug covers according to the care label
Let the rug air dry completely before using it again
