Check with a doctor first if you have ear pain, drainage, a perforated eardrum, ear tubes, or frequent ear problems
Use only 3% hydrogen peroxide
Mix equal parts 3% hydrogen peroxide and warm water if you want a gentler solution
Lie on your side with the affected ear facing up
Put 5 to 10 drops into the ear with a clean dropper
Keep the ear facing up for 5 to 10 minutes
Let the liquid drain out onto a tissue or towel
Gently wipe the outer ear only
Repeat once daily for up to 3 to 4 days if needed
Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or burning
Do not use cotton swabs or insert anything into the ear canal
Seek medical care if symptoms persist or worsen
