How To Clean Shoes?

Remove laces and insoles

Brush off loose dirt and debris with a dry brush or cloth

Check care label for material-specific instructions

For canvas or fabric shoes: spot-clean with a mixture of mild detergent and warm water

Use a soft brush or cloth to scrub gently

Wipe away soap with a clean damp cloth

For white rubber soles: use a paste of baking soda and water, then scrub gently

For stubborn stains: apply a small amount of mild detergent directly and let sit 5–10 minutes, then scrub

For leather shoes: wipe with a slightly damp cloth, then clean with a leather-safe cleaner

Condition leather after cleaning with a leather conditioner

For suede or nubuck: brush with a suede brush, then use a suede eraser for stains

Avoid soaking suede or nubuck; use light, quick strokes

For mesh: use mild detergent and a soft brush; avoid saturating

Rinse carefully with a damp cloth (do not soak)

Clean the outsole grooves with an old toothbrush

Clean laces separately: hand-wash in warm soapy water, then rinse and air-dry

Clean insoles: wipe with mild soap solution; air-dry completely

Dry shoes at room temperature away from direct heat and sunlight

Stuff with paper to help maintain shape and absorb moisture

Remove paper and replace if it becomes damp

Once fully dry, apply protection spray if appropriate for the material

Store shoes in a cool, dry place
