Fill a plastic bag with white vinegar
Tie the bag around the shower head so the shower head is fully submerged
Leave it to soak for 30 minutes to several hours
Remove the bag and vinegar
Scrub the shower head with an old toothbrush
Wipe the shower head with a damp cloth
Run hot water through the shower head for a few minutes
Repeat if mineral buildup remains
