Read the care label
Separate by color and fabric type
Turn sweaters inside out
Close zippers and fasten buttons
Remove lint and pills before washing
Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent
Gently soak and swish; do not wring
Rinse thoroughly in cold water
Press out excess water with a towel
Lay flat to dry on a clean towel or drying rack
Reshape while damp
Avoid hanging wet sweaters
Use low heat only if the care label allows machine drying
Store clean sweaters folded, not hung
