Back up any files you want to keep
Sign out of all accounts
Deauthorize software and remove device access
Disconnect external drives and accessories
Open system recovery or reset settings
Choose the option to remove all files and reset the laptop
Select full drive cleanup if available
Confirm the reset and wait for it to finish
Reinstall the operating system if required
Verify the laptop is fully wiped before reuse or disposal
