Open Gmail
Click the search bar at the top
Click the drop-down arrow in the search box if needed
View recent search suggestions
Hover over or select the search you want to remove
Click the X or Remove option next to that search
To clear all Gmail search history, go to Google My Activity
Open myactivity.google.com
Sign in to your Google account
Click Delete
Choose Delete all time or a custom time range
Confirm the deletion
