Visit your SBI branch where the account is maintained
Carry a valid photo ID proof and your SBI passbook, cheque book, ATM/debit card, and any unused cheque leaves
Fill the SBI account closure form
Withdraw or transfer the full remaining balance before closure
Surrender the debit card, cheque book, passbook, and any linked instruments if asked
Clear all pending charges, loans, or dues linked to the account
Submit the closure form and required documents to the bank official
Collect acknowledgment or closure receipt from the bank
Confirm that the account has been closed and no further transactions are possible
