Wash your hands
Get a clean, dry container or the stool collection kit provided
Urinate first, if needed
Place plastic wrap, a clean disposable tray, or the collection device under the toilet seat to catch the stool
Do not let the stool touch toilet water, urine, or toilet paper
Pass the stool into the collection device
Use the scoop or applicator from the kit to collect the sample
Fill the container only to the marked line, if provided
Close the container tightly
Label the container with your name, date, and time if required
Wash your hands again
Store the sample as instructed by your healthcare provider
Deliver the sample to the lab as soon as possible
