Follow all instructions from your doctor or imaging center
Tell the staff if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant
Tell the staff if you have any metal in your body
Tell the staff if you have a pacemaker, implant, shrapnel, clips, or other devices
Tell the staff if you have kidney problems or allergies to contrast dye
Remove all jewelry and metal accessories
Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal
Change into the provided gown if instructed
Leave credit cards, phones, keys, and other metal items outside the MRI room
Remove hearing aids, dentures, wigs, hairpins, and piercings if required
Follow fasting instructions if you were told not to eat or drink
Take regular medicines only as instructed by your doctor
Arrive early for check-in and screening
Bring your ID, insurance card, and any required paperwork
Bring prior imaging records if requested
Tell the staff if you are claustrophobic or anxious
Ask about sedation or an open MRI if needed
Use the restroom before the scan
Follow breathing or stillness instructions during the scan
Stay still during the MRI unless told otherwise
Tell the staff if you feel pain, discomfort, or distress during the scan
