Check local electrical and building codes before starting
Use a stud finder to locate studs, pipes, and existing wiring
Choose a wall cavity with no obstructions
Mark the TV mount location and the lower cable exit point
Cut two low-voltage access openings in the drywall
Install an in-wall rated cable management kit
Run only in-wall rated cables through the wall
Feed HDMI, power extension, and other low-voltage cables through the kit
Keep power cords separate from low-voltage cables unless using a code-compliant in-wall power kit
Mount the TV bracket securely to studs
Install wall plates at both openings
Secure and organize cables behind the TV and near the outlet
Test all connections before closing up
Patch and paint any visible drywall damage if needed
Use a cable cover or raceway if in-wall routing is not allowed
Hire a licensed electrician if adding a new in-wall power outlet
