Use fresh espresso and properly textured milk
Fill a metal pitcher with cold milk
Purge and clean the steam wand
Steam the milk until it is smooth, glossy, and microfoamy
Tap and swirl the pitcher to remove large bubbles
Pour the espresso into a cup
Hold the cup at a slight angle
Start pouring from a higher position to mix milk and espresso
Lower the pitcher close to the surface as the cup fills
Pour steadily to create the base
Move the pitcher closer to the surface to form the design
Wiggle gently for a rosetta or pour steadily for a heart
Finish by lifting the pitcher and cutting through the design
Practice consistent milk texture and pouring speed
Clean the steam wand and pitcher after use
