Check your laptop’s video outputs: HDMI, USB-C, Thunderbolt, Mini DisplayPort, DisplayPort, or VGA
Check whether your laptop supports two external monitors
Use two separate video ports if your laptop has them
Connect one monitor to one port and the second monitor to the other port
If your laptop has only one video port, use a USB-C or Thunderbolt dock that supports dual displays
If needed, use a USB-to-HDMI or USB-to-DisplayPort adapter for the second monitor
Make sure the dock or adapter supports your laptop’s operating system and display limits
Turn on both monitors
Open display settings on your laptop
Select Extend display mode
Arrange the monitor positions to match their physical placement
Set the resolution and refresh rate for each monitor
If one monitor is not detected, reconnect the cable and restart the laptop
Update graphics drivers if the monitors still do not work
Use powered adapters or a dock if the laptop cannot supply enough display output through one port
