Make sure your Apple Pencil is compatible with your iPad
Turn on Bluetooth on your iPad
Remove the cap or attach the Apple Pencil to the iPad, depending on the model
Pair Apple Pencil with iPad when the pairing prompt appears
Tap Pair
For Apple Pencil 1st generation, plug it into the iPad’s Lightning port or use the USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter if needed
For Apple Pencil 2nd generation, attach it magnetically to the side of the iPad
For Apple Pencil USB-C, connect it to the iPad using a USB-C cable
Wait for the connection to complete
Check the battery widget or Apple Pencil settings to confirm it is connected
