Turn off power at the breaker
Verify power is off with a voltage tester
Match the fan ground wire to the house ground wire and metal box ground
Connect the fan white wire to the neutral wire
Connect the fan black wire to the switched hot wire
Connect the fan blue wire to the light hot wire, if present
Connect the fan green wire to ground
Cap all wire connections with wire nuts
Tuck wires neatly into the electrical box
Mount the fan canopy securely
Restore power and test the fan and light
