Make sure the remote PC has Remote Desktop enabled
Confirm the PC is running a Windows edition that supports RDP host connections
Get the remote PC’s IP address or computer name
Make sure you have the username and password for an account allowed to sign in
Ensure both devices are on the same network or that VPN/port forwarding is configured for remote access
Open Remote Desktop Connection on your device
Enter the remote PC’s IP address or computer name
Select Show Options if needed and enter the username
Click Connect
Enter the password when prompted
Accept the certificate prompt if it appears
If the connection fails, check firewall, network, and RDP settings
