Check your laptop ports (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C/Thunderbolt, VGA, DVI)
Identify the monitor inputs (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, DVI)
Choose the right cable(s) or adapters to match your ports
If your laptop has two video outputs, connect one monitor to each output using the correct cables/adapters
If your laptop has only one video output, use a USB-C/Thunderbolt docking station that supports dual displays
If using a docking station, connect both monitors to the dock (one to each display output)
Connect the monitors to power
Turn on the monitors
Turn on the laptop
Open display settings on the laptop
Windows: Settings → System → Display → Multiple displays
macOS: System Settings → Displays → Arrangement (and/or use the Display settings for external displays)
Select how you want the monitors to behave (extend, duplicate, or use one display)
Set the correct resolution and refresh rate for each monitor
If a monitor is not detected, try re-seating cables, power-cycling the monitors, and restarting the laptop
For Windows, use Settings → System → Display → Detect (if available)
For USB-C/Thunderbolt docks/adapters, confirm the adapter/dock supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode) and dual-monitor output
If needed, update graphics drivers (Windows Update or GPU vendor website)
