Assign IP addresses to the connected interfaces on both routers
Enable the interfaces on both routers
Verify basic connectivity with ping
Enter global configuration mode on Router 1
Enable RIP routing on Router 1
Set RIP version to 2 on Router 1
Disable auto-summary on Router 1
Advertise all directly connected networks on Router 1
Enter global configuration mode on Router 2
Enable RIP routing on Router 2
Set RIP version to 2 on Router 2
Disable auto-summary on Router 2
Advertise all directly connected networks on Router 2
Save the configuration on both routers
Verify RIP routes with show ip route
Verify RIP neighbors and updates with show ip protocols
Test end-to-end connectivity between networks behind both routers
