Collect the data set

Calculate the bin width
Set the bin boundaries
Count how many data values fall into each bin
Draw the horizontal axis with the bin intervals
Draw the vertical axis with the frequency scale
Create bars for each bin with heights equal to the frequencies
Make sure the bars touch each other
Label the axes and title the histogram
