How to Control Dust on a Construction Site?
Water spray exposed soil, haul roads, demolition areas, and stockpiles
Use dust suppressants or soil stabilizers on unpaved surfaces
Cover stockpiles with tarps, plastic sheeting, or temporary enclosures
Install wind fences or barriers around dusty work areas
Pave, gravel, or regularly compact high-traffic site roads
Limit vehicle speed on site
Cover truck loads before hauling material
Clean vehicle tires and undercarriages before leaving the site
Sweep roads and paved areas with vacuum or wet sweeping equipment
Schedule earthmoving and demolition during low-wind conditions when possible
Minimize the area of disturbed soil at any one time
Regrade and stabilize exposed soil promptly
Use dust extraction systems on cutting, grinding, and drilling tools
Wet-cut concrete, masonry, and other dusty materials
Enclose dust-generating activities where possible
Maintain and replace filters on equipment and ventilation systems
Prohibit dry sweeping and use wet methods or vacuum systems instead
Store fine materials in covered containers or enclosed bins
Inspect and maintain dust control measures regularly
Train workers on dust control procedures
Monitor site conditions and adjust controls as needed
