Hold your breath for 10 to 20 seconds

Sip cold water slowly

Gargle with ice water

Breathe into a paper bag briefly

Pull your knees to your chest

Lean forward and swallow

Drink water from the far side of a glass

Suck on a lemon wedge

Eat a small piece of dry bread

Avoid carbonated drinks

Avoid eating too quickly

Stop eating if you are very full

Relax and slow your breathing

Seek medical help if hiccups last more than 48 hours
