Add a pinch of salt
Pierce the egg yolk with a fork or toothpick if the egg is cracked open
Cover the container with a microwave-safe plate or lid, leaving a small vent
Microwave on medium power in short intervals until cooked
Let the egg sit in the hot water for a minute or two
Remove the egg carefully with a spoon
Place the egg in cold water for a few minutes
Peel and serve
