How to Cook Balut?

Rinse the balut egg gently under running water

Place the egg in a pot and cover it with water

Add enough water so the eggs are fully submerged

Bring the water to a boil

Once boiling, reduce to a gentle simmer

Cook for 20 to 30 minutes

Remove the eggs from the pot

Let them cool slightly before eating

Crack the shell at the top

Peel a small opening and sip the broth first

Peel the rest of the shell and eat the egg warm
