How to Properly Boil Eggs?

Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan

Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by about 1 inch

Set the pan over medium-high heat

Bring the water to a rolling boil

Turn off the heat

Cover the pan with a lid

Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 6 to 12 minutes, depending on desired doneness

For soft-boiled eggs, let sit for 6 to 7 minutes

For medium-boiled eggs, let sit for 8 to 9 minutes

For hard-boiled eggs, let sit for 10 to 12 minutes

Prepare a bowl of ice water

Transfer the eggs to the ice water immediately after cooking

Let the eggs cool for at least 5 minutes

Peel the eggs when cooled

Store peeled or unpeeled eggs in the refrigerator
